Document Synopsis

How to add short summaries to your documents or chapters in Motif.

Transcript

A Synopsis is a dedicated space for you to add a summary of your document or story chapter.

To add a Synopsis to a document, open a project from the Your Projects page of the app and navigate to the Write tab. Choose the document you want to add a synopsis to.

Select the “Synopsis” icon on the right sidebar in your Editor. The drawer will open to reveal a large input box where you can write your document or chapter summary.

The Synopsis input box is not currently a rich text editor, which means you won’t be able to use shortcuts to format text, such as adding bold, italics, or bullet points.

Pro tip: Use synopses to help you follow an outline for your story. Each time you add a new chapter, jot down the story beats you want to write in that chapter in the Synopsis field.
