Upcoming Changes to Our Free Plan and Exciting New Features

On June 4, Motif will move out of beta, launch our Pro plan subscription, and introduce new features and limits.

Why We're Making Changes

As our community grows, we need to make sure our platform remains sustainable, and that we can keep providing the best experience for all users. 

To achieve this, we've decided to adjust the limits on our free plan and launch a paid subscription. This will allow us to focus our resources on developing new features and improving performance for our most active and engaged writers.

What's Changing

We will always have a free plan for writers—that’s not going away. 

However, starting June 4, free accounts will have the following limits:

• 3 projects per account
• 30 documents, story elements, boards, or links per project
• 7-day version history
• 24-hour trash storage

We know this may affect some of you, and we want to assure you that this decision was made with careful consideration.

If you already reached the new limits before May 1, 2024, you will receive an offer for 3 months of free access to our Pro plan to thank you for your support. This will give you time to explore the new features and benefits at no additional cost.

Users who do not upgrade to Pro can edit their oldest 3 projects and oldest 30 project items in those projects. Their newest projects and project items over the free limits will become view-only. 

What's Coming

The Motif Pro plan will launch on June 4, 2024. With it, we’ll be releasing new features, including more templates, images, and so much more . 

Additionally, Pro accounts will have unlimited projects, project items, and version history, as well as 30-day trash storage.

The Pro plan will be priced at $5/month charged annually, or $12/month charged monthly. Learn more about pricing.
