What Happens if You Cancel Your Motif Pro Plan
How downgrading to Motif's free account will impact your projects.
You can cancel your Motif Pro subscription at any time by going to your Account Settings. When you cancel your Pro plan, your account will be downgraded to a Free plan. You will lose access to Pro features, and any projects or project items over the Free plan limits will become read-only.
Free Plan Limits
Free accounts are limited to 3 projects and 30 items per project (documents, story elements, boards, and links). Version history is limited to 7 days, and trash storage to 24 hours.
When you cancel your Motif Pro subscription, you will only be able to edit your oldest 3 projects and oldest 30 items in each project. You will be able to view your newer projects and items at any time, but you will not be able to edit them.
Items and projects that cannot be edited will be marked as “Read-Only”. To edit your newest items and projects, you will have to trash the oldest ones.
Losing Feature Access
When you cancel your Pro plan, you will lose access to Pro features, such as Collage Boards and additional Project Templates.
This may impact your account in the following ways:
- Collage Boards: Collage Boards you’ve already created will be read-only and the images will become gray-scale.
- Story Elements: Your Story Elements will revert to the basic view. You will no longer be able to add new cards from the template lists, or view images you’ve uploaded. If you restart your Motif Pro plan, your Element images will return.
- Collaboration: If you’ve turned on link sharing for your manuscript, the shared link will become inaccessible.
- Trash: Any items that have been in trash for 24+ hours will be inaccessible. If you restart your Motif Pro plan, projects and items trashed within the last 30 days will be returned to your trash.
- Version History: You will only be able to view the last 7 days of history for your documents. If you restart your Motif Pro plan, your entire version history will become accessible again.
